Natureza Gabriel is convener of 人間クラフト, and Founder of Hearth Science, where he runs the Autonomics Innovation Lab. He worked closely with Stephen W. Porges, PhD, Developer of the Polyvagal Theory (PVT), under whose guidance he wrote and art directed the Official Polyvagal Posters. After building polyvagally-informed clinical software, he began to notice places where PVT was incompletely mapping the experience of clients. Inquiring into these gaps in the theory led him back to the source maps of the autonomic nervous system that had been standardized by allopathic medical science over the past several hundred years. He realized that these maps had been made exclusively from cadavers. Recognizing that necrotic neuroanatomy is different than living neuro-anatomy, he led a research team in remapping the living autonomic nervous system. In 2024 this research was codified in a new foundation model of autonomic physiology: Autonomics. Gabriel is the author of 14 books about autonomic physiology, including The Neurobiology of Connection, which award-winning neuroplasticity expert Rick Hanson, PhD, calls, “A masterpiece.”
